• Port of ISI's version 4.2a4 by Alexey

• Another ISI port by Phil Wang(Colombia)

• Apps have access to the standard RSVP API

  • theoretically, can run QoS enabled apps from say win98
• Reservations made at the host by the app to RSVPd
  • RSVPd then talks to the network on behalf of the app
    • request may be denied if no resources are available
